Kynnefjäll
Kynnefjäll’s is located in west Sweden in the north of the province Bohuslän. A wilderness area that feels more like the taigas of the north of Sweden than an area near the southwest coast. Here, you walk through magical forests, across open moors covered with heather, and past many glittering lakes. Sometimes you can see ospreys high above the lakes where the black-throated diver breeds, and in the bogs you can see cranes strutting and hear the melancholy call of the golden plover.
You walk on your own
You walk on your own, without a guide, aided by a detailed map complete with tips of exciting experiences along the way. The nights are spent in a comfortable and cosy two-bedded cabin at the hostel/camp. You arrive in the afternoon/evening and after unpacking and settling in you can take short walk in the surrounding area to get acquainted with the terrain. In the evening,
we go through the next day’s walk including maps, weather, suitable clothing and useful advice.
Every season has its charm.
Every season has its charm. The spring and early summer with bird song and blossom. The summer with buzzing bumblebees, raspberries, blueberries and warm dips in clear waters. Late summer with a basket full of mushrooms, a bucket of lingonberries and still warm lakes. Autumn with even more mushrooms, crystal-clear days and sparkling colours.
After walk
After a lovely day’s walking at your own pace, you can enjoy a wood-fired sauna, refreshing dips in our bathing pond and hot coals in the barbeque house. You bring your own food to barbeque and finish the day in good company around the campfire before it’s time to say goodnight.
Yoy can choose from three different walking tours as below.
The Kynnefjäll Trail (2 nights) An exciting and varying hiking tour. The walk begins and ends at Wauglen and is at least 20 km long, but can be extended to around 30 km.
Assembly: Day 1 between 16-20:00. Finish: Day 3, at 12:00
Price from SEK 790:-p.p. 
Along the lakes(2 nights) A tour of great natural beauty from north to south alongside glittering lakes and streams.
The length will be between 17-20 km, depending on the choose of starting point.
The day of the walk begins with transport to a carefully selected starting point. From there you walk at your own speed to Wauglen.

All around Kynnefjäll (3 nights) A walking tours for two days, that takes you throught the best, most wildest and interesting
parts of Kynnefjäll. Each day you will walk about 17-20 km depending on the chose of starting point. On the first day, you start from Wauglen and walk north for about 18 km, where you’re collected at the day’s finishing point. On the second day, you’ll be transported to your chosen starting point from which you walk south back to Wauglen. The stages are between 18 and 20 km each, depending on your choice of route.
Assembly: Day 1 between 16-20:00.

Canoeing
The walking packages can be combined with canoeing, about 7km through the area’s wild lakes.

Miscellaneous
We recommend hard-wearing clothing, adapted to the weather conditions, waterproof boots or sturdy wellies. Bring your own food and drink and don’t forget something tasty and enjoyable for your barbeque, own bed linen. A limited range of food and equipment is available to purchase.
